They kept giving me bogus reasons saying it was the formatting, or the files were too large, one person told me my wifi was too slow (really?!) or telling me to call overdrive it was their problem as kindles can only download "kindle format not overdrive format." I started feeling like they had no knowledge on this issue and were giving me the wank around. I decided to call Amazon customer service tragically annoying having to talk to 5-6 different ppl to find one that was knowledgeable, and the calls kept getting dropped. If this were a $100 kindle I'd be ok with it, but this is the creme de la creme, the Bentley of kindles, there should be an umbrella hidden in the door type of kindle. a couple of forums on amazon elude to no LTE for library usage, but these are old talking about 3G, not the flagship Oasis, and somewhat vague, and contradictory. I deleted a MacArthur study bible I previously purchased so I could try to download it from LTE, it downloads no problem (this is probably a 15,000 page book.) So I scoured the entire Amazon Oasis page looking for LTE information.can it even be used for library downloads. Then I bought a very large book direct from amazon, downloads immediately over LTE. So I turn on Wifi hotspot on my phone and it starts, then shut hotspot off when its only like 2% done. So I turn on phone hotspot and it downloaded. The book was larger, like 700pages, but no pictures so I figure less than 10mb. It kept giving me a "Wifi required for Wireless Delivery" message, also stating " Delivery is only available via Wif-Fi and USB due to file size." I tried to download a book from the local library using both the libby and overdrive apps and it wouldn't download. a borderline insane amount when compared to the usual $100-120 paperwhites I've had over the last 7 years or so. To preface this is the king daddy kindle, color temp selectable, LTE, waterproof, lighter. Got a 10th Generation Kindle Oasis with U nlimited LTE for Christmas, staggered my folks would throw that kind of dough on a gift for me. Just thought I'd share my findings about LTE download problems with library books.
